It surely will attract lot more people if they start giving away free domain but sadly they don't. The fact is hostgator's domain price is very high. They charge around $15 for the dot com domain which is very high in compared to other domain service providers. Hostgator are not big players in domain...but they are number 1 in web hosting service.
