Well we all know the use of Ctrl + C of any computer. The use of Ctrl + C has a very great disadvantage sometimes which can leak our personal information and ruin our life. I know this long back but when I read the article about Ctrl + C yesterday in the Times of India newspaper, I thought many people may not be aware of this evil use effect of Ctrl + C. So I am sharing the same article with you today.

Everytime you do a harmless keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C in your computer, the text you copy online may be stolen on the web. This copied data is accessible on the internet when you visit websites that use the combination of javascript and ASP or any server-side-language like jsp, php, from which the data that you copy can be transferred to another server. Most web server. Most web sites are javascript enabled.

You necessarily need not even press the ‘paste’ button. The ‘paste’ happens automatically. The website just provides an example of what could potentially happen to you, especially if you have copied your credit card details, bank details or any other sensitive information.

“This is one of the main reasons that credit card companies and banks ask you not to copy, paste your card and bank details. Everytime you copy some information, it gets stored in your computer clipboard. In case, you end up visiting a malicious site, your information can be easily stolen. This information can be read in a hidden manner, that you will not be aware of it being seen by someone else”.

How to Open CBZ File Extension?

Well guys you know that I encountered another new file extension today. It was cbz file extension. Earlier too I encountered cbr file extension which I was totally unaware of. You can check out how to open cbr file extension if you have missed.

Cbz file extension can be found mostly on the comics file. Cbz file extension can also be access in the same way as cbr file extension. To open the cbz file extension, you can use any unzipping program like winzip and winrar. So how to open cbz file extension, well you just select the cbz file and open with winrar, don’t rename. After opening with winrar, extract the cbz file to some location and it will get open.

Hi friends, this computer tips and tricks blog have been doing very good from last few months. There is an increase in the number of visitors from the search engine mainly big G – Google search engine. From my last experience, I am only targeting visitors from the search engine nowadays. Those visitors help me in earning money from Google Adsense. Most of the other traffics are not worth. Social networking traffics are really not worth because they never tend to click any of the ads. They have set a mentality that why should we let him earn money by clicking his ads. The reason is that they are not targeted most of the time. So search engines are the best to get targeted traffics. I am getting around 100 unique visitors per day from search engine which is very great. I am promoting more in order to get the traffic. Beside that the very good thing that happens to this computer tips and tricks blog is that the page rank of this blog is updated to page rank 3 on dated 28/05/2009, earlier it was page rank 2. The earning from this blog is also very good, currently around $150-$200. Actually I want to increase the earning capacity of this blog upto $500 by the end of this year. Google Updated Page Rank in April 2009

Well friends, if you are web master or into blogging things then you might be aware of Google Page Rank. If you are totally new into Google Page rank terms then here’s the quote from wikipedia about page rank:-

PageRank is a link analysis algorithm used by the Google Internet search engine that assigns a numerical weighting to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of “measuring” its relative importance within the set. The algorithm may be applied to any collection of entities with reciprocal quotations and references. The numerical weight that it assigns to any given element E is also called the PageRank of E and denoted by $P R (E).$

The name “PageRank” is a trademark of Google, and the PageRank process has been patented (U.S. patent 6,285,999 ). However, the patent is assigned to Stanford University and not to Google. Google has exclusive license rights on the patent from Stanford University. The university received 1.8 million shares of Google in exchange for use of the patent; the shares were sold in 2005 for $336 million.

So Google use to update page rank 4 times in a year. Last time was in december2008 – january 2009 and now in April of 2009.

This time the Google Page Rank didn’t surprised me much. I didn’t lose any page rank or gain any page rank. It was stable for this “computer tips and tricks” blog . I also didn’t got felt any sad about not getting higher page rank because I build very less quality links in these updation period. I only got around 20-30 quality links which is very hard to increase the page rank. I actually sold many links in last 1 month so that might be the reason I didn’t gain any high page rank. So I will need to get more back links.Â So I will try to gain atleast page rank 4 in the next update. The next Google page rank updation will most probably in the month of August 2009. I have got plenty of time to build quality links.

By the way, when I checked the status of my other blogs I saw some 2 months old pr 0 blog got pr 1 in this google page rank updation. I was happy to see these updations. Computer Tips And Tricks Blogroll Exchange

Not denied that the more quality backlink and onto a blog, blog Page Rank is the better. Here, about computer tips and tricks, especially about blog, by reason of that, usually take a blogger to know that blogroll exchange with other bloggers. Besides to maintain between the blogger of course. But, there is one thing that I not wish . There is still only blogger who has not understand the ethics of good, like my posting about computer tips and tricks blogroll exchange last time ago. Almost they are never know how about good become blogger. I do not intend to learn you here. Since I’m also new people in the blogsphere. I just want this situation to be better.

Here’s an example that the incident never experienced: Suppose he is A. He was to stop by my blog. Shoutbox fill, “Hi, would you need to blogroll exchange with me ?”. Ok, I am willing to exchange links. Check my blog, but apparently the link I have not yet installed. Ok , I know about that . I attach the link he was ahead. After that I fill his shoutbox, “Hi, I attach the link already. Post link, I also do. From here start I am not good feel visible. How not? How to Open the .CBR extension file

Hi friends, yesterday I was downloading some files from the Internet. Later when the downloading was completed I was shocked to see some unknown .cbr extension file. So I started searching in the Internet how to open the .cbr extension file. At last I found out, how to open it.

Since I know that many people also doesn’t know this extension. So I thought to share with you. .cbr file extensions or file types are meant for e-books. To open them, just use any unzipping program. Zip or Winrar works. Don’t rename them, just open it with the program, and it will get open.

How to Listen to your PDF files

How to Listen to your PDF files, from now onwards if you don’t like reading PDF files or you have some important work to do and still need to go through an important PDF file? Then you can work in parallel and continue with your work while you listen your PDF files. Interesting isn’t it? It works in Adobe reader 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, and even on 9.0

So what is the procedure to Listen PDF files, Just follow these simple methods: -

Ctrl + Shift + Y – Activate the Read Out Loud Option (This is the first step you need to do)
Ctrl + Shift + V – to hear the page (View->Read out Loud->Read this Page)
Ctrl + Shift + B – to hear the entire Document (View->Read out Loud->Read to End of Document)
Ctrl + Shift + C – to Pause
Ctrl + Shift + E – to Stop

If the speech is not convenient to hear because the voice is very fast or loud, you can adjust that by following steps: -

Choose Edit->Preferences
Choose Reading from the list on the left. This displays the default reading preference settings
Set desired volume level
Choose a voice. On Windows you only have the default voice
You can set the pitch and words per minute also
Choose a reading order from the pop-up menu and click Ok

So try it today if you were unaware of this and how you think about the features of the Adobe Reader?

Note: – I have tested in many of my PDF files, it works well except one file, I couldn’t find out why? So guys if you share your experience then it may be more useful to all the users.

How to Resize the Images or Pictures Freely

I have just learned yesterday how to resize the Image or Picture Freely by using a simple free windows XP tool. This windows XP tool is not on the default installation. So you will have to install by yourself. You can download the tool freely from the link image resizer.

Download and save it in your Hard Disk and double click it and installed it.

Remember: – This is not a program that youâ€™ll be able to find in Start/All Programs but itâ€™s actually a function that allows you to resize any sort of picture quick and easy.

You can also use the Image Resizer to resize any photos so they’ll fit on a compatible cell phone, personal digital assistant (PDA), or Portable Media Center so you can enjoy your photos while on the go. Using the Image Resizer is easy, and it will preserve your original photos for other uses you may have in the future

Lets see how to resize the images or pictures

1. Open the folder where you have the picture to resize, select it and right click it.

2. As you can see there is a new option on the menu, Resize Picture, click on it.

3. Here you can select the size you want. If you want you can click on the advanced section.

4. On the advanced menu select the new size and you also have the option to resize the original or create copies.

5. Click OK and you have done it. Easy as that

If you have to resize multiple pictures, hold Ctrl while you selecting your pictures, right click and do the same as from step 2 to 5

How to change the Font and Background Color of DOS

How to change the Font and Background Color of DOS is today’s topic. If you use computer regularly then you must be familiar with DOS. Although DOS came at very early stage but still today it is a very powerful tool. Many of the works are still done at DOS like configuring some typical tasks of computer, deleting virus which can’t be done generally on the windows. Many more advantages are there.

We know that Default color of DOS is white font and black background. Many people think they can’t change this font color and background color. They are very wrong. We can change this font color and background color of DOS according to our choice like black font and white background in MS word, any combination you wish.

Windows Command Prompt windows or DOS has a default value of 0, for standard white text on a black background.

Now let’s learn how to change the font and background color of DOS

Open Registry (press win + r or goto start->run and type regedit and hit enter)
Now goto [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command processor]
You’ll find Default color in the right side.
Double click the Default color (by default you will see 0 value in inserted there)
You can replace its value with a two-digit hexadecimal number, in which the first digit selects a background color and the second a font color. The hexadecimal codes and colors are: -

0 Black
1 Blue
2 Green
3 Aqua
4 Red
5 Purple
6 Yellow
7 White
8 Gray
9 Light Blue
A Light Green
B Light Aqua
C Light Red
D Light Purple
E Light Yellow
F Bright White

A value of F0, for example, would give black text on a white background. You can try any combination with these values and work with the comfortable combination.

The change should take effect the next time you open a console window.

Collection of an Easter Eggs – Part I

So before presenting you the collection of Easter Eggs, Let me first explain you what is Easter Eggs?

According to wikipedia, Easter eggs is

A virtual Easter egg is an intentional hidden message or feature in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program, or video game.

Actually how it happens?

Easter eggs are messages, videos, graphics, sound effects, or an unusual change in program behavior that sometimes occur in a software program in response to some undocumented set of commands, mouse clicks, keystrokes or other stimuli intended as a joke or to display program credits. They are often located in the “About” box of a software.

For example, two Easter eggs exists in the “About” box of Adobe Photoshop 7: an alternate “Liquid Sky” splash screen and the ability to speed up credits to view funny quotations. An early use of the term Easter eggs was to describe a message hidden in the object code of program as a joke, intended to be found by persons disassembling or browsing the code.

So you already got one Easter egg in the example itself. So I will be posting here some series of Easter eggs from now onwards; this is the first part of Easter eggs. Now Easter eggs are there to lighten up the mood and they do so by shocking us or making a laugh. Here are a selected few Easter eggs from some of the most popular software.

1. Windows XP

A typical windows XP installation contains a music theme that’s hidden away in a folder.

Enter this location in the address bar on windows explorer as it’s a hidden folder. The track is called title.wma

Double click on it to run it and enjoy the windows welcome music.

2. uTorrent

uTorrent has an interesting little Easter egg in it. I hope you all know about uTorrent, it is a very famous P2P sharing file network where you can download lots of things freely.

Start uTorrent and click on Help->About uTorrent.

Click on the logo on the left top, and a small sound will be played – Something like the one played in the THX trailer.

An even more surprising Easter egg can be found in the same window.

Press [ctrl] + [T] and you will find a small Tetris game running. Use the arrow keys to rotate and move the blocks into place.

3. Notepad

Notepad is a text editor and not many people believe there is an Easter egg in it.

Create a new Notepad text file and type in

Save the file and close it. Re-open the file to see what you find. Even if you type

You will get the same results-garbled text. This is not technically an Easter egg, but an issue.

Note:- Remember only one method will work at a time. If you want to try another one, delete the first file and implement the second one.

4. Firefox

Firefox has a silly Easter egg, which can be viewed by entering

about kitchensink

in the location bar. A kitchen sink made up of ASCII characters will open up with water flowing down it.

You need to be connected to the internet for this.

You can also get the same result in other browsers by entering the keyword about kitchensink in Google and selecting I’m Feeling Lucky.

Yeah you can browse any website by using MS calculator, isn’t it strange? Although why would some one browse the website through MS calculator if there are lots of useful and powerful browsers. I am covering this trick because this blog talks about computer tips and tricks. Well the following can be the reason of using MS calculator to browse website.

You can use this method when your browser is messed up for unexplainable reason which rarely occurs. Still
Or you can do it for fun.

So the steps needed to browse website using MS calculator are: -

Open your MS calculator. This is can found in Start->All programs->Accessories->calculator.
Or you can go to Start->Run->now type calc and hit enter, windows calculator will open.
Open the help-window by pressing the F1 key.
Click the top-left corner icon of the help window once (click the question mark symbol).
Select Jump to URL.
Type your address of website into the available field but remember to type http:// and not just www. For example: – http://www.gedetbasumatary.com
