Blogs On Blogspot Have Malware & Trojans But Wordpress Blogs Safe - Says Google

Google Malware Adivisory Reports

Google’s new anti malware advisory services tells you whether a site is safe to browse or does it contain any Malware, Trojans or malicious scripts that may pose security risk.

The Google’s anti malware advisory service reporting 208 blogs hosted on blogspot.com to be functioning as intermediaries for distributing malware to visitors of this site. Where as blogs hosted on wordpress.com are very safe and not even a single blog is reported as threat.

Here are the few points from the report on blogs hosted by blogspot.com

1. 227 suspicious activities are recorded over the past 90 days
2. 5880 Trojans, 844 scripting exploits and 262 adwares are identified
3. Successful infection resulted in an average of 4 new processes on the target machine

  1. What is the current listing status?
  2. What happened when Google visited this site?
  3. Has this site acted as an intermediary resulting in further distribution of Malware?
  4. Has this site hosted Malware?

    this is to scared, i still remember (lot) my blogspot was delete by google. i’m very sad because some of my blogspot are good ranking

    @mxyzplk, you are welcome. I can’t figure out the exact solution but huh most of adult blog get infected bye these malware and trojans so don’t ever try to link to such kind of blogs. I’ll update more if I found solid solution to it.

    @exinco, yeah sometime it happens. That’s why I switched to wordpress blog. Getting yourself a brand domain name is also always better.

    ofcourse adult blog… it because adult blog is using adult advertisement, and 70% adult advertisement have malware, and then… why blogspot is the target? because blogspot is more well known for people, and it just kinda software politic, or internet politic. and its all about rivalry :D

    This is not a good news for blogspot users, but I’m sure blogspot is taking serious action about this malicious Javascript. These are the redirects.
    Sites doing these must be eradicated.
